Why put a deskstop system in your
office to share data? You can consider to use
one QNAP TS209 Pro because it will use far less
energy and 2 hard drives for Raid 1, the data is
secure when one hard drive fails. Besides
sharing data you can also run your web server on
the QNAP TS-209 Pro And with Joomla you can run
entire web services.
Since the first time we looked at
the TS-109 we knew we would like it. Its
outstanding design, the quality of its
materials, the multiple functions and the
easy-friendly configuration make him suitable to
use it in different environments, either in a
small office like a File Server or Printer
Server with Backup Mirroring capabilities or in
home where we can use it as a Multimedia Server,
Download Server or UPnP Server supporting Xbox,
PS3 or DLNA Media Players.
QNAP TS-409 Pro is a 4-bay,
hot-swappable, Linux embedded All-in-one NAS
(Network Attached Storage) Server specifically
designed for business users who need fast
performance, mass storage, and useful server
features. The hot-swap design is supported for
replacing failed hard drive of a RAID
configuration without turning off the server to
ensure non-stop services and minimize
maintenance cost and effort.
TS-209 Pro provides numerous
(12-in-1) value-added functions for modern
business and SOHO users. You can use the
built-in phpMyAdmin, Joomla!, MySQL/ SQLite web
server to create interactive web sites. It
adopts low-noise fan and power-saving design
which is excellent for long-term operation and
deployment in small business environment without
server room.
The QNAP TS-409 Turbo NAS is a
great data storage/backup unit. It offers
excellent features which can be easily and
quickly configured via an easy to use web-based
GUI. It's ideal for any SOHO or Home user.
Having said that, the QNAP TS-409 is one of the
best NAS unit we've tested in our labs so
far.
QNAP TS-209 has all the features
that are needed for a NAS and even more. The
whole product is light and easy to use. Some
competitors should learn how to do the same. As
a result, this NAS is a perfect home server.
This test is a comparative file of all NAS in
which the TS-209is the winner (best product out
of 7 models) and the TS-100 is rewarded due to
its "value for money".
QNAP TS-100 is a functional and
easy to manage server. It's a good NAS which
works well for home user. With stylish silver/
white aluminumhousing, noise-free (Silent PC)
design, easy installation, user-friendly user
interface, and complete server feature sets, you
can easily build up a perfect multimedia storage
center for backing up and sharing multimedia
files with your friends and family.
If flexibility and affordability
are your top priorities, the TS-409 makes a
compelling purchase especially considering its
wealth of uses. Whether you just require a basic
file server, a backup solution or one that
handles iTunes libraries, QNAP's latest is a
definite tick in the value box and a great
performer to boot.
QNAP TS-109 should not be called
network storage. It is a very efficient home
server. Honestly speaking I cannot think of any
function this device does not have as a
multimedia home server or a small office server
(SOHO). The final assessment is very good. There
is nothing I could not like. The truth is that
the looks of additional programs like QGet could
be improved but it is just an addition to a
greater whole. I was to mention lack of support
in a Polish language but we have been informed
by the distributor that the new software is
entirely in Polish.
QNAP TS-209 is rich and solid:
many astonishing functions for this NAS, very
good performance and a solid architecture: this
NAS is logically the winner. Simpler settings
would have been better.
QNAP TS-209 Pro offers every
function what you can consider. At the top end
of the market, QNAP and Synology are fighting
for the first place. QNAP is our test winner
because of better performance and function and
it is much quieter.
The QNAP TS-409 Pro is yet
another great progression for the Turbo Station
NAS series. Retaining all the better aspects of
its predecessors, and adding on even more great
features, the TS-409 Pro is more than enough for
any small to mid range user.
As it stands, the QNAP TS-409
Pro's combination of extremely well-designed
software, an amazing feature set and decent
performance adds up to a very good NAS. If you
are in the market for a 4 bay NAS, this NAS
should be at the top of your list. It really
does offer an amazing bang for your buck that
you are unlikely to find anywhere else in this
price range. For this reason the Qnap TS-409 Pro
Turbo is great example of what a Hardware
Canucks DAMN GOOD Award winner should
be.
The QNAP TS-409 Pro SATA Gigabit
NAS is going to be an excellent alternative to
the basic workgroup and domain level file
servers most resellers use for small business
networks, and the additional functionality
should not go overlooked. If your needs require
large amounts of data storage and it is unlikely
that you will have numerous users trying to
transfer data at the same time, I imagine you
would be very pleased with the QNAP TS-409
Pro.
For all of this functionality as
possible, the TS109 Pro has a good amount of
hardware. The NAS is equipped with 128 MB RAM
and a 500 MHz processor Marvell. There is a
eSata port for the connection of additional
storage. Striking is the absence of a ventilator
which QNAP, in the sporadic geratel of the hard
disk after, completely silent.
QNAP has traditionally focused on
home and SOHO users but its latest TS-409 Turbo
NAS appliances move its aim further up into the
SMB sphere. The appliance of TS-409 Turbo NAS
series supports stripes, mirrors, RAID-5,
hot-standby and hot-swap and along with these
you now get RAID-6 as well, although this will
be a costly option for a four-drive
appliance.
The QNAP TS-109 Pro does not lag
in functionality, it has more than enough
features that it offers to the end users. The
software is very user friendly and does allow
full control of the unit via highly intuitive
interface.QNAP TS-109 pro is a product I could
easily recommend to anyone either they are first
time users of NAS based products or they are
professionals just buying another NAS
product.

are not only attractive in features but also in
design. There is more to the unit than spoken
off inside this review like backup software
(reviewed in previous Qnap model), the iTunes

on.
The feature set of QNAP TS-209 is impressive.
In addition to web and FTP file access there's

Its internal network HDD can be individually
configured with JBOD in RAID0 or RAID1, It has
also great transfer rates with peaks at 28MB/s
(writing mode) for heavy files. It is the
fastest NAs of all the one we tested. It miss
nothing and is a great investment even if you
dont want to use all of its many
functions.
As NAS prices are on a continuous decrease,
we propose you to discover the asian company

test the TS109Pro, a middle-level product with
nice and sober design in aluminium for optimal
heat dissipation - here it is even fanless. the
HDD install is easy and can be extended to 3
HDDs thanks to 3x USB (frontal, back and

Recommended by PC home Advance, one of the most
famous IT magazines in Taiwan. We think QNAP
TS-209 Pro is the idealest NAS among these 4
real-teting models. No matter its hardware
design or well-thought functions.
The employment of RAID-0 does not bring
considerable advantages with the NAS systems of
Qnap. Therefore Hartware.net recommends to the
home user to add themselves the Qnap TS-109 pro
and to extend if necessary over eSATA additional
disk place to do mirroring by
RAID-1.
AOD has previously tested the
QNAP solution with only 1 harddisc (TS-109) and
this time it was time for their 2-harddisc
solution. The setup of 209 was simple, 2 drawers
should be unscrewed and herafter the discs
should be mounter put backtogeter again. It is by
far the most all-round NAS we have in this
test.
It's hard not to love QNAP's TS-109 Pro
network attached storage (NAS) box. For
starters, it sprinkles magic dust over your data
transfers - it was the speediest of all the NAS
devices we've ever tested in both our small- and
large-file transfer tests. The TS-109 also comes
with a plethora of outstanding features... Detail
